We also announce the marketing of a new voucher using our existing designs adapted solely for the purposes of Boudoir and Make over Portraiture. In 2008, in the week leading up to Valentines day, Cristina Hoole a spokeswoman for PayPal, said: “It would seem that romance is far from dead as almost half of Brits will be splashing out a massive £1.6 billion on their loved ones this week.”
She went on to add that “as millions are expected to hit the shops, up to one in five will choose to shop online for a gift to avoid the crowds”. Other findings from PayPal concluded that up to a quarter of UK men are more likely to conduct their valentine shopping online and 36 per cent of Brits in a relationship do not plan to give any presents at all.
In August 2009 a more recent Paypal survey found that around 12.9 million men do their shopping online compared with 10.3 million women, with almost twice as many men than women shopping online for the first time each year. Over the past six months the typical man spent £2,602 online compared to £1,930 for women.
