We’re not your typical make-over business
If you’ve ever experienced one of the so called make-over sessions you’ll be delighted to know we’re not your typical impersonal make-over business.
For those of you who’ve never experienced the ‘make-over’; let me elaborate.
These ‘make-overs’ are highly marketed offering you the chance to have a make-over at a very low sitting fee – perhaps even free!
You’d be met at the studio by the receptionist who’d put you in the queue to have your make-up applied. When your turn comes, you’re hurried into a small room and sat on a chair. Your make-up ‘artist’ plasters you with enough foundation to tarmac the M11. Then you’re then rushed into the studio by a spotty faced assistant and presented to your overworked photographer. To him or her, you’re simply a session number in a never ending line of photo sessions booked that day.
The exciting moment you’ve been waiting for has arrived. But it doesn’t turn out as expected. You’re unceremoniously wrapped in several layers of multicoloured boas. You’re then be asked to smile seductively at the camera, while the photographer snaps away. And as for your photographs, it seemed to be the case of how many soft filters they could fit on the camera lens! It was little wonder they couldn’t bring you into focus – they could probably hardly even see you through the camera lens.
To add insult to injury; after your short photo session was over you’d be rushed back into the make-up room and have your make-up stripped off before being cast out on to a back street.
When the time came to choose your prints you’d arrive for your appointment at the studio. The receptionist would take you to a small room. In the room, you’d be greeted by their voracious sales person. Their only objective is to empty your bank account and then some more in the shortest a time possible before moving on to their next victim.
Only when it comes to the grand unveiling ceremony would it hit you what’s actually happened – you’ve been had.
Once again you’re taken away to small room where yet another specialized sales person greets you. Your picture is unveiled in a grand ceremony. You stare blindly at your portrait. “Yes that’s you madam” the sales person informs you. It’s you behind all those layers of make-up and a myriad of feathered boas, softened by more soft filters that you can count on one hand, and finally diffused under a heavy laminated heat seal.
Definitely you. Don’t you look wonderful?
