Caught with my pants down
As you know, getting great value for money doesn’t mean going with the cheapest supplier. When things look too good to be true they usually are. And it actually costs more in the end as we have to pay for replacements.
On Monday, I felt like I was caught with my pants down.
Six months ago, I upgraded my PC to Windows 7. I shopped around to find the best deal. I didn’t want an upgrade version of software. So when I found a full copy of Windows 7 Ultimate for less than an upgrade I thought it was a bargain. Everything was fine until Monday when I got the dreaded warning that it wasn’t a genuine copy.
After a call to Microsoft, I discovered that they‘d provide discs and license if I could prove it was bought in good faith. The alternative was to buy another copy of the operating system. That would mean I’d loose all the money from the original purchase. And I’d still have to pay the higher price to replace the dodgy software.
Thankfully, I found my original proof of purchase and am now waiting for a genuine replacement after a minimal additional payment.
And the moral of this story…
Go for the cheapest or high-volume conveyor belt studio. And you might feel like you were caught with your pants down.
As far as I know, no one else offers a triple guarantee like ours. With a “You’re going to be thrilled” or your money back guarantee, you can’t go wrong when you choose us. And that’s not all. Click here for the full details.
Beauty Tip – Avoid premature skin wrinkling
With the fabulous early spring weather we’re enjoying, I found this article on how to avoid premature wrinkling very apt.
Premature skin aging occurs through damage to the skin. Following these five simple tips, you can reduce premature skin aging.
- Be smart and use creams with sunscreen. However, avoiding the sun completely can also be bad for your skin. It deprives the skin of vitamins that can only be absorbed by the suns rays – according to an article I saw recently on the BBC. Moderation is the key. Avoid the midday sun and limit periods of exposure to little and often. How much exposure is right for you depend on your skin type. If you burn easily, keep exposure minimal.
- Wear a hat or sunglasses. This reduces your squinting, which will cause lines around the corners of your eyes.
- Moisturise often. Moisturise every time you wash your face. This helps prevent your skin from drying out. As a minimum, you should cream your face in the morning and again at night.
- Watch your nutritional intake and avoid too much junk food. As the saying goes, you are what you eat. Eating a balanced diet will ensure your body has all the vitamins and minerals it requires. And that includes your skin. Vitamin A is especially important for great skin. Personally, I take a multi-vitamin tablet every morning. Think of it as an insurance policy – even healthy foods loose vitamins over time.
- Choose smart skin products. Many skin products include SPF and anti-aging ingredients. Use skin products with both of these benefits and you’ll benefit from saving money and ease of caring for your skin.
