Burlesque portrait scoops a Bronze Award in the SWPP competition for Glamour and Beauty Photography. All Sally from Essex had to do was hold our mask in front of her face to create the mystery and glamour that is typical burlesque.

This picture was taken in one of the model portfolios I did late last year in the studio. Photographing men is very different from ladies as they don’t want a feminine look. We wanted to show his great physique in a masculine manner but looking friendly rather than aggressive. This was especially important due to being heavily tattooed.
He was very pleased with the final results, which I think achieved my goals.

I’m really thrilled that this beautiful contemporary pregnancy photo of Sarah did so well in last month’s SWPP photography competition especially as this was one of her favourite photos.
After Sarah saw her pictures for the first time she told me:
“Thank you so much for yesterday I had a really good day – and was very brave!
…may end up with a few more pictures as I really like more than I thought I would (when I say that I mean I dont normally like looking at photographs of me but I love these)!“

This fun shot was taken on a recent glamour photography shoot on location, when Mandy’s friend was making fun of her from the sidelines Portrait and family group may seem like a strange category to enter this image but the entry rules only states that it needs to be more than one person. And one thine they’re looking for is the sense of telling a story, which this does through Mandy being distracted.

This image was taken on a glamour photo shoot in Felixstowe during the summer. despite being summer it was a dull overcast day, so I used a remote flashgun to enhance lighting. It was shot using my portrait lens with a wide f/2 aperture to achieve the very shallow depth of field.
